About the Clearfield Community
Clearfield is located in the heart of Central Pennsylvania, just off Interstate 80 on the western slope of the Allegheny Mountains. We are less than an hour from State College, the home of Penn State University, and a little over two hours away from Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.

Clearfield County measures approximately 37 by 40 miles and is the fourth largest county in the state. Abundant reserves of coal, natural gas, clay, and timber play a significant role in the county's economic and land use.

The beautiful terrain, ranging from 789 to 2405 feet above sea level, encourages year-round recreation. Opportunities for hunting, fishing, swimming, boating, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing attract many visitors and provide residents with the best of what our state has to offer right in our own backyards.

A town with history, pride, and determination--this is Clearfield. In the clean, fresh mountains of Central Pennsylvania is our small community, free from "big city" problems, yet boasting more than 100 civic, social, and fraternal organizations. Clearfield is a town lacking bumper-to-bumper traffic but maintaining traditional values, where a family can grow and individuals can develop.
