The workshop will focus on postpartum depression and bipolar disorder during the pregnancy and postpartum periods. Our target audience for the workshop is social workers, nurses and other mental health professionals who come in contact with young mothers and babies during the perinatal period. Our goal is to provide education on appropriate screening and identification of perinatal mood disorders, to increase understanding of the causes of mood disorders during pregnancy and postpartum periods and to raise awareness of effective interventions. All persons interested in learning more about this important topic are welcome to attend.

Scott Turkin, M.D. has been practicing at Dubois Regional Medical Center, Behavioral Health Services, in Dubois, Pennsylvania since 1997. He is board certified in Psychiatry and recently was elected to be a Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association. Continuing Education:

This program has been approved for 3 continuing education hours. Accredited schools of social work are pre-approved providers of continuing education by the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors. Temple University School of Social Administration is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Certificates of attendance documenting 3 continuing education hours will be issued by Temple University Harrisburg at a fee of $10 per certificate. Application for nursing CEs is pending approval by AACN for 4 category A hours.
