In this role, Dr. Civiello will assess continuing medical education providers and programs across the state to ensure consistency with the society's accreditation process. They also must have a master's degree or doctorate level education in continuing medical education or instruction. She began working for Clearfield Hospital in 1992. Her duties at Clearfield Hospital include coordinating grand rounds involving physicians from the Cleveland Clinic, George Washington University, the University of Maryland and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, among others; managing orientation for medical students; coordinating continuing medical education programs at Clearfield Hospital; and researching medical information for presentations. She also coordinates and manages continuing education programs for other professions at the hospital, including nursing, and is a certified cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructor and certified car seat safety inspector. In addition, Dr. Civiello is in charge of orientation programs for new employees. Joseph A. Vetrano, M.D., chairman of Clearfield Hospital's medical education committee, was pleased to hear about Dr. Civiello's appointment. "Dr. Civiello is a highly qualified, highly dependable and very professional medical education coordinator. She possesses a quiet, diligent and competent manner. Her appointment by the Pennsylvania Medical Society's Commission is well deserved. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She will be a tremendous asset to the society," Dr. Vetrano said. Dr. Civiello resides in Clearfield with her husband, William, and has three children, Damien, Joshua and Brooke. |
