Spencer joins Nathaniel D. Yingling, M.D., Cancer Center as physician assistant

Physician assistant Courtney Walker Spencer recently joined the staff of the Nathaniel D. Yingling, M.D., Cancer Center.

“Courtney joins our team at a time of great transition. As we strive to expand our services and scope of practice, she has already proven herself an invaluable asset in the initiation of several new projects including the establishment of a multidisciplinary tumor board. It is my hope that her presence here will alleviate time constraints and allow for even greater personalized service to our patients,” stated Dr. Joseph Padolick, medical oncologist.

Mrs. Spencer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Bucknell University in 2000, and then earned a Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University in 2005.

Mrs. Spencer completed 48 weeks of clinical rotations in pediatrics, surgery, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, corrections medicine and internal medicine. Local physicians Dr. Mark Shaw, Dr. Thomas Carnevale, Dr. Robert Steward and Dr. Joseph Vetrano served as mentors.

Mrs. Spencer has served as a pharmacology instructor for the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center and was a substitute teacher for local school districts.

She resides in Clearfield with her husband, Andy, and their son, Cole. Mrs. Spencer is the daughter of C. Alan and Judith Walker of Clearfield.

The Nathaniel D. Yingling, M.D., Cancer Center is a joint venture of Clearfield Hospital and DuBois Regional Medical Center. The center offers state-of-the-art medical oncology/chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
