| Didactic and clinical hours will vary by semester. First year students will have an average of 10-20 hours of clinical education per week with the remaining time in the classroom. Second year students will average 30 hours per week in the clinical area with the remaining time spent in the classroom.
Evening Rotation
Students are scheduled for evening clinical rotation to enable performance of emergency examinations, and to allow for a more indirectly supervised clinical experience. This better prepares the students to function in a variety of circumstances upon graduation. Hours assigned are 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM with one 45-minute lunch period and one 45-minute dinner period; or 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with one 45-minute dinner period.
Personal Time, Holidays and Vacation
Students are granted 96 hours per year to be used for sick and/or personal time. All students will receive six holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Possible Bonus Holidays may be granted and will be scheduled on the school calendar. Two weeks of vacation will be scheduled on the school calendar.
In addition, the second year will receive a one-week spring break which will be scheduled in March/April.
