Dr. Peña joins Clearfield Hospital medical staff 

     Rhonda Lynn Peña, M.D., recently joined the medical staff of Clearfield Hospital. She specializes in gynecology and obstetrics.

     Dr. Peña is now practicing at the office of Thomas A. Carnevale, M.D., and Deborah DeMuro, B.S.N., certified registered nurse practitioner, located in the Medical Arts Building, 807 Turnpike Ave., Suite 260, Clearfield.

     Dr. Peña earned a Medical Degree from St. George’s University, Grenada, West Indies, after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.

     She completed a residency in family practice at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster. She practiced gynecology and obstetrics at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in Bronx, N.Y., Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington and Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland.    

    Dr. Peña’s professional experience also includes work as a biologist for the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and as a molecular biologist for Human Genome Sciences in Rockville, Maryland.

     She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and American Academy of Family Physicians. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation.
