Each month, a variety of community-wide educational classes are sponsored or co-sponsored by Clearfield Hospital. Ongoing monthly education services include:

Basic First Aid

Knowing how to react to an emergency can keep a minor accident from becoming a major injury. This first aid program, offered in conjunction with the American Heart Association, provides information on CPR, environmental, injury and medical emergencies. Please call for more information.

Healthcare Provider CPR

A four-hour course held quarterly for anyone in the healthcare field or students going into the healthcare field. Renewals are done monthly on an individually-scheduled basis.

Heartsaver/CPR

A two- to three-hour program designed to teach individuals the skills to perform basic adult CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver. This program covers such topics as Coronary Heart Disease, Risk Factors, Prudent Heart Living, Obstructed Airway Techniques, and Adult CPR. Please call for more information. May be combined with FA for a six-hour program.

Pediatric Heartsaver

A two- to three-hour program designed to teach individuals the skills to perform CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver on infants and children. This program covers such topics as Causes of Cardiopulmonary Arrest in Infants and Children, Prevention Measures/Safety, Obstructed Airway Techniques, Infant and Child CPR. Childbirth Education Program

Child Passenger Seat Safety Checks

Clearfield Hospital has one certified passenger safety technician available to assist and educate parents, grandparents, and other caregivers with learning how to correctly install their car seats. Please call for more information or to schedule a car seat safety check.

Diabetes Education Classes

Series of classes are held throughout the year. The classes include information/instruction on the following: definitions and terms, medications, laboratory testing and self monitoring, foot and skin care, high & low blood sugars, sick day management, stress, complications, dietary management, and ongoing self-care/management. All persons with Diabetes and a friend/family member are invited to attend the classes. Please call for more information.
