Medical Director

Mark R. Shaw, D.O., F.A.C.E.P.

The Emergency Department of Clearfield Hospital is a 17-bed unit located on the ground floor of the North Wing of the hospital. It has 12 monitored beds and five low acuity beds located next to the outpatient waiting room. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency assessment, treatment and stabilization are the focus of the department.

The physicians, nurses and physician assistants have many years of experience in emergency care and are dedicated to providing quality care to patients.

The major medical conditions treated by the staff are abdominal pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, sprains, fractures, lacerations, infections and trauma. All age groups are cared for by this unit.

Fast Track

The department's Fast Track service, adjacent to the main emergency department, is designed to quickly and effectively treat people with less serious illnesses and injuries to minimize their time in the emergency department.
